14 June 07 17:30 GMT

A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with the death of a man who fell through a skylight at a Wrexham store.

Roofing worker Paul Christopher Alker, 34, died in Wrexham Maelor hospital earlier this week.

North Wales Police said a man had been arrested on Thursday on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence and was being questioned in custody.

Mr Alker was a contractor working at the Comet store in Mount Street.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said Mr Alker died on 11 June.

Initially, he had been treated for a suspected broken collar bone and was discharged, but was readmitted and died while being prepared for treatment.
