Trump golf plan director leaves post

14 May 10 10:49 GMT

The project director of Donald Trump's planned Aberdeenshire golf resort has left his post with the company.

Neil Hobday said he had left to pursue other business interests after five years helping to develop the Menie estate near Balmedie.

Mr Hobday told BBC Scotland the move had nothing to do with a recent on-camera row he had with local property owner David Milne.

Mr Milne is refusing to sell his home to the Trump Organisation.

Their row happened amid angry scenes at a public exhibition of the drawings and detailed masterplan for US tycoon Mr Trump's £1bn golf resort in March.

Mr Milne and other families who live on land wanted by the Trump Organisation have said they are living under the threat of possible compulsory purchase orders.

Mr Milne was told to "clear off" by project director Neil Hobday.

The masterplan will be considered by Aberdeenshire Council later this year.
