A family-owned lighting manufacturer which went into administration last month has been saved.

A group of manufacturing and engineering companies has bought J & G Coughtrie Limited.

Administrators KPMG Restructuring said the sale had secured 30 jobs at the Hillington-based firm.

Coughtrie, which has an annual turnover of £3m, went into administration in October after hitting cash-flow difficulties.

The company was bought by a newly-formed subsidiary of Inchinnan-based TH Group, a collection of Scottish manufacturing and engineering companies which includes contact cleaning technology firm Teknek, product design business Meso Design and Keizai, a business improvement consultancy.

TH Group's Stephen Mitchell said: "Coughtrie is a well established brand and has a reputation for product excellence in its respective markets which includes the provision of security lighting systems for public sector institutions.

"Combined with our knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and international marketing expertise we expect the business to grow rapidly," he added.
