Listeria fears have led to the recall of some pre-cooked ham products bought in SuperValu and Centra stores.
The affected products are cut in store at the deli counter rather than pre-packaged.
The health alert affects a single batch with an expiry date of 18 September. The products have a two-day shelflife from the point of purchase.
Parent company Musgrave said as a precautionary measure the products were being removed with immediate effect.
A spokeswoman said: "If customers have purchased any of this affected batch of products they should not be consumed and should be disposed of immediately."
