Council debates university plan

10 November 08 20:54 GMT

Plans for a new university in Swindon are to be discussed at a council meeting in the town.

The proposals include the building of up to 1,500 homes and the university campus on land between Coate Water, the M4 and the Great Western Hospital.

Some 50,000 people have already objected to the ambitious plans, along with groups like the Campaign to Protect Rural England.

The borough council is due to meet on Tuesday to debate the proposals.
