An antique dealer has been charged with stealing a £3m Shakespeare folio from Durham University 10 years ago.
The first edition, published in 1623, turned up in a library in the United States in 2008.
Raymond Scott was arrested in July. He was charged with two offences of theft and two of handling stolen goods when he answered bail on Wednesday.
The 51-year-old from Washington, Tyne and Wear, was bailed to appear before magistrates on 10 February.
The folio at the centre of the investigation was brought back to the UK by detectives from Durham after they travelled to the United States last October.
