A military museum in County Durham has earned a "quality" seal of approval.
The Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery (DLI) has retained its Quality Assured Visitor Attraction status awarded by Visit Britain.
It is the second year the Durham County Council run museum at Aykley Heads has earned the quality mark.
The award is given following a visit from an unannounced, independent assessor from the Visitor Attraction Quality Accreditation Scheme (VAQAS).
Speaking on Monday, Councillor Eunice Huntington said: "The DLI is acknowledged as one of the finest County Regimental museums in the country attracting around 40,000 visitors a year.
"The quality mark shows that it is consistently meeting the highest standards in the experience we offer to our visitors.
"At the same time, it recognises all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes by our staff who are a vital ingredient in making us a success."
