Canterbury inspires Japan tourism

A mayor of a Japanese city has visited Canterbury to develop ideas about how to attract tourists to his town.

Mayor Atsushi Tanabe, of Koshu city near Tokyo, visited the city to learn about tourism strategies.

As part of the trip, Mayor Tanabe discussed ideas and toured the city and cathedral.

Koshu is a recently-founded city and is best known for producing wine, which is the country's first wine export to the European Union.
