Work to demolish a car park which provides shoppers with more than 1,000 spaces in a Suffolk town has started.
Crown Street car park in Ipswich was closed suddenly in November for an investigation by structural engineers.
Builders have now begun to demolish the car park, and work is expected to last about 12 weeks.
While work takes place part of Fitzroy Street and Claude Street will be shut. Diversions have been set up through the High Street and Crown Street.
An Ipswich Borough Council spokesman said if work takes longer, the road closures will be extended.
