Fans of Jane Austen have set a new world record for the most people dressed in Regency costume when they walked through Bath.
The bid was made as part of the Grand Regency Promenade which is part of the annual Jane Austen Festival held in the city over the weekend.
Walkers made their way from the Roman Baths through the Georgian streets to gather at The Assembly Rooms.
Some 409 participants stood in a group for 10 minutes to set the new record.
Details of all those taking part were noted and were sent to Guinness to verify the new record.
During the walk they were joined by a town crier, naval personnel and musicians, along with re-enactment groups and societies including the 32nd Cornwall Regiment and a group of hobby horse enthusiasts called The Dandy Chargers.
