Further talks over tram dispute

18 October 09 10:17 GMT

Further talks are to be held between union leaders and Nottingham tram managers in a bid to resolve a dispute over pay and conditions.

Members of the GMB union have staged a series of strikes over the failure to reach an agreement with Nottingham Tram Consortium (NTC).

The union has since agreed to a pay freeze but the dispute now centres on a decision over cost savings.

All parties have agreed to meet on 26 October to continue negotiations.

The union had originally sought a 5% pay increase, but NTC rejected this saying current economic conditions meant it faced a drop in income.
