A baby boy killed by a falling lamppost in a west London street has been identified as Tommy Hollis, who would have been one year old on Friday.

Police found him outside Chiswick Town Hall on Tuesday. He was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died.

A family statement said they were "utterly devastated" and thanked the community for their support.

Police and the Health and Safety Executive are conducting a joint investigation into the accident.

The child's carer was unhurt but a woman aged 62, who was not related, was also injured when the lamppost fell.

She was released from hospital on Wednesday.

The Hollis family, whose address has not been divulged, have asked for their privacy to be respected.

Hounslow Council has opened a book of condolence at Chiswick Town Hall.
