Conservatives keep hold of Blaby

The Conservatives have retained control of Blaby District Council in Thursday's local elections.

The party gained two seats to bring their total number of councillors on the Leicestershire authority to 27.

The Liberal Democrats lost two posts and now have seven councillors. Labour have four seats on the authority.

One seat on the council was won by an independent candidate. The whole of the district council was up for election in Thursday's vote.
