Councils get 2m to fight erosion

Two councils on the Yorkshire coast have been given more than £2m between them to help communities cope with the effects of coastal erosion.

The money is part of an £11m government fund being split between 15 councils around the English coast.

East Riding Council has been awarded £1.2m which it will use to help people who lose their homes to erosion.

Scarborough Council will get £1m to help rebuild properties at Knipe Point which are threatened by a landslip.
