20 September 07 10:22 GMT

A new £200m shopping and leisure complex has opened to people in East Yorkshire.

St Stephen's, in Hull city centre, includes more than 50 large stores and a new £18m transport interchange.

A cinema, 120-bed hotel and restaurants will be completed by November. Hull Truck Theatre and the Albemarle Music Centre will be moving in next year.

The 40-acre development, in Ferensway, took two years to build. It has generated 2,500 new jobs.

St Stephen's main covered street, which is as wide as Oxford Street in London, will remain open to the public 24 hours a day.
