Plans for a major redevelopment around Pride Park stadium in Derby have taken another step forward.

Members of Derby City Council's planning control committee have approved outline plans for the £20m Pride Plaza development.

Proposals include a 165-bed hotel, bars, restaurants, office and what planners are calling a pedestrian friendly environment.

There will also be monuments to Rams legends Steve Bloomer and Brian Clough.

The approach road to the project will be called "Lionel Pickering Way", after the club's former chairman.

The project is expected to create 250 jobs.
