DIY sex disease kits at farm show

19 July 08 10:28 GMT

Testing packs for a sexually transmitted disease are being handed out at an agricultural show in Cumbria.

The DIY packs, which test for chlamydia, will be on offer at the Cumberland Show on Saturday.

A team from Cumbria Primary Care Trust screening programme will be giving out urine sample bottles which people can take away and hand back.

People taking part will receive their results by text, phone or letter within a week.

Recent figures from the Health protection Agency revealed a sharp increase in cases of chlamydia in Cumbria in 2007.
