3 October 08 10:20 GMT

A new bridge for cyclists and pedestrians in Bristol is being opened and officially named later.

The £2.4m bridge at Temple Quay Central's floating harbour will be named "Mead's Reach".

The stainless steel bridge, which will be illuminated at night, weighs 75 tonnes, spans 55m (180ft) and links the city centre to Temple Meads.

The name was chosen by Delia Crozier from the Knowle area of the city after she won a local newspaper competition.
