Supermarket giant Tesco is holding a contest to name a new shopping centre following a row over a proposed title.
Tesco wanted to use the name The Brooks Centre for the new development in Bradley Stoke near Bristol.
But a local councillor claimed the store broke a promise to let children name the centre.
Tesco said the idea had only been discussed - but it has now agreed to allow residents to pick the name through a competition.
"We want everyone in Bradley Stoke to get behind this," a Tesco spokesman told local news website, Sadlybroke.com
"There is a judging panel in place, we'll be putting up posters up around the town, and we'll be launching it with the media next week.
"We're looking at a closing date at the end of May and judging in the first week of June."
A Tesco store will form the heart of the new centre but other shops will be opened nearby.
