A man has been charged with killing a care worker and the attempted murder of her colleague at a nursing home.
Stephen Slatt, 54, was arrested after 58-year-old Kathleen Bainbridge was stabbed at the home in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, on Friday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination of Mrs Bainbridge, from Luton, showed she had been stabbed in the upper body in the attack at Abacus House.
Mr Slatt, of Princes Street, Dunstable, is due before magistrates on Monday.
Mrs Bainbridge was married with two daughters and four grandchildren.
Her colleague was hurt when she went to her aid, but suffered only superficial injuries.
