Sark government to be fine tuned

11 December 09 14:37 GMT

Work has started to fine tune Sark's new system of government, the deputy seneschal says.

The island held its first fully democratic election a year ago with the 28 conseillers, who sit in Chief Pleas, elected by an island-wide vote.

Jeremy La Trobe-Bateman said he can now see why the changes were necessary, but the system needed a few adjustments.

He said: "It makes the running of Chief Pleas much simpler... there are moves to make a few minor alterations."
