St Peter Port's five new douzeniers were elected on Wednesday.
The parish's elections were deferred so a closed ballot could take place and 779 votes were cast to decide which of the six candidates would get the seats.
Peter Harwood topped the poll with 168 and the other successful candidates were Christine Goodlass, David Harry, Caroline Lane and Keith Pike.
There a slightly higher turnout than normal with 3.5% of the electoral roll turning out to vote.
An election was also held to decide who should be on the La Mare de Carteret High School committee.
Three people stood for the one seat, but Deputy Jenny Tasker came out top with 97 votes.
