States pressed on school revamp

24 June 09 10:55 GMT

Campaigners are hoping to persuade Guernsey States to redevelop Les Beaucamps School.

Banner-waving parents lobbied deputies as they turned up for the States meeting on Wednesday.

Deputies will look at 19 key projects and decide which should go ahead and how they will pay for the work.

The Education Department says the secondary school, which opened in 1959, needs £38m of work to bring it up to modern standards.
