US chat show host Larry King has filed for divorce from his seventh wife citing "irreconcilable differences".
His wife of 13 years, Shawn Southwick, 50, filed her own petition hours later, citing the same reasons. The couple have two sons together, aged 11 and 9.
A lawyer for King, 76, said he was hoping to "keep this divorce amicable".
Although she is his seventh wife, it is the eighth time the star has filed for divorce. He was twice married to and divorced from ex-wife Alene Akins.
Ms Southwick is seeking spousal support as well as the ownership of the couple's home in Beverly Hills, California, and two properties in Utah, court records show.
In his petition, meanwhile, King asks a judge not to award his wife spousal support.
He also calls for an agreement which allowed for the transfer of property to her to be invalidated.
King is seeking joint custody of their children while his wife wants sole custody.
"His major concern is the welfare of his children," said King's spokesman Howard Rubenstein.
The broadcaster has hosted nightly programme Larry King Live on CNN since 1985.
