FTSE 100 reshuffle promotes Investec

11 March 10 10:28 GMT

Banking group Investec is to join the FTSE 100 following the latest reshuffle of the UK stock market indexes.

Investec will replace Resolution - the company which bought insurance company Friends Provident last November.

Resolution will now drop into the FTSE 250 index. The changes will come into effect on 22 March.

The composition of the FTSE share indexes is updated every three months to reflect changes in the market value of companies.
