BJP takes control in Himachal Pradesh
In the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, a member of the Hindu nationalist BJP, Prem Kumar Dhumal, has been sworn-in as chief minister.
It follows the failure of the Congress Party to secure a majority in the state assembly.
The BJP and its allies have now been given until April the third to prove that they have the support of the assembly, in which no party has a clear majority.
