Turkish forces kill five in border clash


Turkish troops killed five armed men attempting to cross from Syria into Turkey in a gunfight on Saturday evening, Turkish TV reported on Sunday.

"Five terrorists have been killed in a clash with the security forces while trying to infiltrate into Turkey from the Syrian border near the Yagmuralan village of Sanliurfa's Akcakale District," the report said.

"Five terrorists were spotted trying to cross the border near the Yagmuralan village yesterday evening.

The terrorists responded with fire to the security forces warning to halt.

The five terrorists were killed in the ensuring clash." The TV said three Kalashnikovs and an amount of ammunition were found in a search conducted at the scene of the incident.
