Text of notice banning Falun Gong


The announcement was broadcast on state TV
The official announcement banning the Falun Gong group as carried by China's official state news agency Xinhua:

The People's Republic of China Ministry of Civil Affairs decided on 22 July 1999 that the Falun Dafa Institute, and the Falun Gong organisation under its manipulation, is an unlawful organisation that has to be outlawed.

The following announcement is made in accordance with that decision:

Those whose acts of violating the above rules constitute a crime shall be held accountable for their crime; and if their acts do not constitute a crime, they shall be disciplined or punished according to the law.
