A police sergeant whose former boyfriend was an armed robber has been told she must resign following a misconduct hearing.
Sgt Jill Evans began a relationship with Kent-based company director Dean Jenkins in February 2006.
Jenkins, 41, was jailed for 17 years in 2007 after admitting involvement in a string of armed raids in Kent.
Dyfed-Powys Police said Ms Evans had been asked to resign for breaches of the police code of conduct.
In a statement, the force said that a misconduct hearing involving the police sergeant concluded last month with her "being required to resign."
"The hearing concerned allegations concerning the officer's honesty and integrity and general conduct, and followed an investigation by the force's professional standards department," it added.

"The matter was adjudicated upon by a wholly independent panel external to the force.
"The matter is now subject of potential appeal procedures and it is therefore not appropriate to comment further at his time."
Jenkins was arrested in October 2006 after a security van was robbed at New Romney, Kent, and an alleged accomplice was shot dead by police.
He later admitted taking part in two other security van robberies and two armed raids on building societies.
He was jailed in November last year at Maidstone Crown Court.
Dyfed-Powys Police said at the time that following his arrest, Ms Evans made senior officers aware of her relationship.
By that time, they had been seeing each other for eight months after meeting in a bar in Cardiff.
