Hotel balcony fall woman improves

Rhian Evans

A holidaymaker is said to be "improving" in hospital, five days after she fell eight storeys from a hotel balcony in Spain.

Rhian Evans, from Crynant near Neath, has been in a critical condition in hospital in the Costa Brava.

Ms Evans, who is in her early 20s, was two days into a holiday with her daughter Chloe and her aunt.

A Foreign Office spokesman said Ms Evans was still in hospital but her condition was improving.

Her aunt has since returned to the UK with Ms Evans' daughter, with other members of the family flying out to be at her bedside.

It is believed Ms Evans hit a second floor balcony during the fall.
