£1,000 reward for taxi knifeman

A £1,000 reward is being offered to catch a man who tried to rob a taxi driver in Haverfordwest at knifepoint.

A blade was held to the driver's throat but he fought off the attacker who fled empty-handed.

The incident happened at about 1745 GMT on 9 December in a car park on the corner of Peggy's Lane and Gerald Road.

Police said the attacker was white and below average height. He was wearing a beanie style hat, black clothing and had a scarf across his face.

Supt Euros Lewis said: "Incidents like this are a rarity in Pembrokeshire."

"I am in no doubt that someone has information about the identity of the offender and I would urge that person to pick up the phone and tell us what they know."

Anyone with any information about either incident can phone Haverfordwest CID on 0845 3302000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
