City road gets overnight closures

Road closed sign

A major thoroughfare in Cardiff is to be closed overnight to allow essential road works to take place.

The city's A48 Eastern Avenue will be closed in both directions between the Gabalfa and Llanedeyrn interchanges from Monday 11 August for six weeks.

The road will be shut each night from 2000 BST until 0600 BST the following morning.

Cardiff Council said the closure is needed to allow workmen to carry out essential bridge maintenance work.

Diversion routes will be in place during the closures.
