Man to appear on assault charge

A 24-year-old man is due to appear in court after allegations that threats were made to people in the Duffryn area of Newport on Saturday.

Armed officers were called to support local officers when they visited an address there on Saturday.

Gwent Police said although no arrests were made at the scene, a suspect was later detained.

Lee Tutton, from Newport, will appear at the city's magistrates court charged with affray and assault.
