Three arrests follow drug raids

South Wales Police police have seized class A drugs including heroin and cocaine after dawn raids in nine homes in south Wales.

Two women and a man were arrested in the raids at homes in the Brackla, Caerau and Wildmill areas of Bridgend.

South Wales Police say it is part of an anti-drugs operation called Rat on a Rat which targets drugs dealers.

Since the operation was launched at the beginning of the month, officers say 13 people have been arrested for drug related offences.

Supt Tim Jones said: "Drug dealers are breaking down the fabric of our communities.

"They deliberately target the young and vulnerable in order to build and maintain their trade and are responsible for causing misery to many ordinary people who want to live in peace."

"Today's success is thanks to the willingness of the public to speak out about suspicions of illegal drugs use in their neighbourhood, so I would like to thank them and encourage others to follow suit," he added.

Rat on a Rat encourages the public to pass on any information about dealers or drug-related activity.

Police said "countless successful raids" were a direct result of anonymous information being passed to Crimestoppers.

Officers are appealing for anybody with information to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
