A scheme to help vulnerable and older people to live independently is to be extended by Gwynedd council.
A young Caernarfon widow is among 400 people who have already benefited from the Telecare alarm scheme.
It allows Tanwen Lloyd, aged 31, who has epilepsy, to live in her home with her seven-year-old daughter.
The system links to a 24-hour support centre and would send a telephone message if Mrs Lloyd had a fit while sleeping.

Her daughter has also been shown how to use the "Lifeline" box to summon help if her mother suffers a fit or becomes unwell.
"I feel better because I know I am safe," said Mrs Lloyd, whose husband Ioan died two years ago, .
"I also know that my daughter is safe.
"My family also feel happier and I hope it means that they don't worry so much about me," she added.
Gwen Carrington, head of Gwynedd council's social services said: "We know from experience that vulnerable people in our communities want to live independently in their own homes if that is possible.
"The system offers a truly innovative service in the field and gives those involved the confidence they need to live independently, knowing help is always at hand," she added.
