Eight hurt in two-car collision

An air ambulance was called after eight people, including children, were hurt in a two-car collision.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service cut the roof off one car to release one of the casualties on the A487 at Garn Dolbenmaen, Gwynedd, on Saturday night.

Among the injured were a nine-year-old boy with a head wound, and a three-year-old boy, who had a broken leg.

The casualties were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital at Bangor, where all were described as stable.

A couple and two children were in one car, and four men were in another, all of them visiting the area.

The collision involved a Volkswagen Polo and a BMW.
