An inquest has opened and adjourned into a walker found dead on a Snowdonia mountainside on Sunday.
Jack White, 58, a fitter, was from Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
Mr White is thought to have fallen between 200-300 ft, and was found by members of Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, on 3000 ft (914 m) Tryfan.
He had been missing for nearly a week and the alarm was raised when he failed to pay for his tent pitch at a campsite in the Ogwen Valley.
A dozen members of the Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team were involved in the search and eventually found his body in a gully.
"When he was first reported missing to us (on Friday) we did not have enough information to begin a search, but a rucksack, which positively identified him, was found on the east face of Tryfan on Saturday afternoon," said a team spokesman.
He said the search was first concentrated in a gully above a footpath at Heather Terrace.
North Wales Police and RAF helicopters made a sweep of the area, but found nothing.
