An 81-year-old woman from Towyn has been killed in an alleged hit-and-run accident near Abergele in north Wales.
North Wales Police said Dorothy Hollingsworth's car was in a head-on collision with another vehicle, which then made off from the scene.
The accident happened on the junction of Gors Road and the A547 Rhuddlan Road between Abergele and Towyn at 1800 BST.
Three men, believed to be from the Stoke-on-Trent area, are being questioned.
Police have appealed for witnesses and are particularly keen to trace the driver of a gold coloured vehicle, possibly a hatchback, which was seen stopping at the accident scene.
The road was closed for more than 12 hours but has reopened.
Witnesses are being asked to call 0845 607 1002 (English) or 0845 607 1001 (Welsh).
