A former Anglesey solicitor who stole £143,000 from clients has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Stephen Puleston Williams, 50, from Holyhead, stole the money from clients over a three-year period.
He admitted theft and forgery at Chester Crown Court before being sentenced on Tuesday.
Jailing Williams, Mr Justice Gray said he had committed repeated breaches of trust on vulnerable clients, but accepted he had shown remorse.
The judge added that he also accepted Williams was under great pressure at the time of the offences.
Breaches of trust
Williams was a former senior partner in the firm of Prothero Williams, which had offices in Bangor, Holyhead and Valley.
Stephen Everett, defending Williams, said his client may be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life following an forthcoming operation on his spine.
Mr Everett said that Williams accepted he had committed gross breaches of trust and apologised to his victims.
The court heard he had been struck off by the Law Society in 2002 and that because of his actions, his partner had become bankrupt.
Mr Everett added that Williams was now running a management consultancy business and had a modest income.
