Remand after officer hit by van

A man has been charged with assault with intent to resist arrest after a police officer was hit by a van.

Christopher Evans, 39, from Prestatyn, Denbighshire, was also charged with dangerous driving and driving while disqualified and without insurance.

He was remanded in custody by Flintshire magistrates.

North Wales Police have said an officer tried to question a driver on suspicion of failing to stop but was hit by a van in Hawarden, Flintshire.

Mr Evans is due to appear before magistrates at Wrexham via a video link from Altcourse prison on 12 November.
