BBC Wales is to apologise to Wrexham MP Ian Lucas for a documentary it broadcast in which he was criticised by two senior North Wales Police officers.
The force's chief constable Richard Brunstrom, has already apologised for the comments in The Chief, shown on BBC One Wales last November.
BBC Wales said it would apologise for broadcasting the criticisms without checking their accuracy, when Mr Lucas had no right of reply.
The apology is broadcast on Tuesday.
A spokesman for the corporation said: "We can confirm that BBC Wales will be broadcasting an apology to Mr Lucas on Tuesday.
"Last November, a documentary about the work of the Chief Constable of North Wales, Richard Brunstrom was broadcast on BBC One Wales.
"In it, the Chief Constable and another officer made strong criticisms of Mr Ian Lucas, the MP for Wrexham, for which North Wales Police subsequently apologised.
"We would like to apologise for broadcasting the criticisms without checking their accuracy and in a context where Mr Lucas had no right to reply to them.
"We would also like to clarify that remarks criticising the Chief Constable for addressing a meeting of the Welsh language pressure group Cymuned, which were attributed in the programme to Mr Lucas, were in fact made by Mr Mark Tami, MP for Alyn and Deeside."
Mr Brunstrom and his deputy, Clive Wolfendale, apologised to Mr Lucas in February for likening the MP to Ned Ludd, who gave his name to the Luddites, a term used to describe anyone opposed to technological progress.
Mr Brunstrom said he also wanted to correct any suggestion arising from the programme that Mr Lucas had been 'parachuted' into a safe political seat.
He said Mr Lucas's commitment to the Wrexham constituency was evidenced both by the local method of his selection and by his contribution to the community before, and since.
Mr Lucas welcomed the apology by the BBC although he expressed disappointment at the length of time taken to reach a conclusion to the matter.
He added that he hoped lessons would be learnt from the incident.
BBC Wales' apology is to be broadcast at 2235 BST on BBC One Wales.
