Raiders target 11 primary schools

Over the last three weeks North Wales Police say a total of 11 schools were burgled, with cash boxes, safes and laptops all targeted.

The raids took place between 30 May and 15 June and the schools were broken into either late at night or during the early hours of the morning.

Police are investigating to see if there is a link between the incidents.

The latest burglary occurred at Penarlag CP School in Ewloe on 15 June.

• Northop Hall CP School, Northop Hall
• St Mary's School, Flint
• Venerable Edward Morgan CP School, Shotton
• PenyfforddJunior School, Penyffordd
• Gwynedd CP School, Flint

Sergeant Tim Green from North Wales Police said: "Generally, entry was gained via a window, in most cases by smashing the glass with an object.

"Cash boxes, safes and laptops were targeted."

He added: "We are currently investigating to see if there is a link between these incidents."

CCTV footage is being investigated by officer and patrols have been increased in the areas.
