Man loses part of ear in attack

A man lost part of his ear after being attacked during a disturbance outside a football club, say police.

The 22-year-old was assaulted in the car park next to Aberystwyth FC at 0115 BST on Sunday 28 June, said Dyfed- Powys police.

The unnamed man suffered serious injuries to his head and face and was taken to the Morriston Hospital in Swansea for treatment.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.

A large number of people were congregating in the area of the football club at the time of the assault, said Det Insp Lynn Rees.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to contact Aberystwyth Police Station by dialling the 101 non-emergency number or by contacting Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
