Two people have been airlifted to hospital from the mountains of Snowdonia by an RAF Valley Sea King helicopter in separate rescue missions.

A 62-year-old climber from Derbyshire suffered a leg injury after falling onto a remote ledge on Idwal Slabs near Bethesda, Gwynedd, on Saturday.

Earlier a 30-year-old walker from Colchester sustained an ankle injury after slipping on Moelwyn Bach, near Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Both were flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd.
