Man is bailed over woman's death

A 29-year-old man held over the death of a woman near Abertillery, Blaenau Gwent, on Saturday has been bailed.

Gwent Police said 51-year-old Alison Gilbert was found dead at an address on Mount Pleasant Estate in Brynithel.

Her death was being treated as suspicious and police appealed for anyone who near the property between 0800 GMT and 1800 GMT to contact them.

They also want to speak to anyone who had been in contact with Ms Gilbert over the 10 days before her death.

Anyone with information is asked to Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
