Fire officers say they are still trying to find out how a blaze started at a house in Ceredigion in which a man died.
Emergency services were called to the property at Lewis Terrace in New Quay in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A specially trained sniffer dog is being used to help as forensic experts sift through the house.
The dead man has yet to be named, and police say they are keeping an open mind over the incident.
Det Insp Greg Williams, of Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Our sincere condolences are with the friends and family of the deceased person.
"All concerned would like to thank the community of New Quay for their time and patience with regard to the disruption caused as a result of this incident."
The detective said the cause of the fire remained "unexplained", and police have appealed for any witnesses to the fire to come forward.
Police said they were also conducting high visibility patrols in the area to reassure the public, while the Mid and West Fire Service said it was offering fire prevention advice.
