Two treated after fires hit flats

Two people have been treated for breathing in smoke after two fires broke out in neighbouring blocks of flats in Bridgend.

The fire service was called to the buildings on Waunscil Avenue at 0350 BST on Saturday morning.

At the peak, 15 firefighters from Bridgend and Pencoed were working to put the fires out.

Nine people had to be led to safety from the fire, which broke out in communal areas.
