Police name man stabbed at house

Michael Morgan

Police have named a 42-year-old man stabbed to death at a house early on Wednesday as Michael Morgan.

Gwent Police were called to the property at Heol Derw, in Hengoed, Caerphilly county, at around 0400 GMT.

Mr Morgan was taken to Prince Charles Hospital, in Merthyr Tydfil, where he was pronounced dead.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murdering Mr Morgan. He remains in police custody where he will be questioned by detectives.

Mr Morgan was described as a loving husband, father, son and brother.

His relatives said he was a devoted family man who would be missed by many.
