Murder charge after estate death

A police officer stands guard outside the house A 51-year-old man has been charged with murder after the discovery of a body on a housing estate.

South Wales Police launched an investigation after Craig Thompson, 29, was found at Lavender Road, Gurnos, Merthyr Tydfil, at 0100 GMT on Friday.

Officers began a forensic examination of the house and a post-mortem examination was carried out.

The man accused of killing him is due to appear before Pontypridd magistrates on Monday.
