Teenagers bailed on hacking charges

Raphael Gray, 18, and a second teenager, who has not been named, were arrested by UK detectives on computer hacking charges after an international operation.

The pair have been bailed to return to an undisclosed police station at an undisclosed date.

Dyfed-Powys Police earlier confirmed that two 18-year-old men from Clunderwen, near Narberth, Pembrokeshire, were questioned over allegations of the theft of credit card information.

The arrests followed a joint investigation by the FBI and Dyfed-Powys Police.

It is understood that agents from the FBI travelled to Britain as part of the international investigation.

The investigations focus on credit card information from more than 26,000 accounts and allegations that business computers had been broken into in the United States, Canada, Thailand and Britain.

Hacking allegations

The teenagers were arrested in connection with alleged offences of computer hacking under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

On Thursday night, police raided a property in Clunderwen, confiscating a home computer worth around £700 and arresting the two 18-year-olds.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Internet security consultants were also involved in the investigation.

The international banking and credit card industry also provided substantial co-operation, the FBI said.
